IN THE LOOP
Up to 28 students live in the Loop every semester, where they complete coursework and up to 300 internship hours.
Experience the “best of both worlds” at Lake Forest College: our beautiful 107-acre campus and access to one of the greatest cities in the world. It’s a combination that gives Lake Forest students an edge and sets us apart from other colleges.
Located 30 miles north of Chicago, Lake Forest College is roughly an hour train ride from the city. The Metra rail line, located in downtown Lake Forest, is a 15-minute walk from campus and trains run frequently throughout the day.
There are so many ways to make use of all that Chicago has to offer: students and professors use the many resources of Chicago to complement coursework and conduct research, there are hundreds of internships in and around Chicago as well as many networking opportunities with alumni and other professionals. It’s also a ton of fun—with music venues, museums, divvy bikes, sports teams, beaches, and just about any type of food you can imagine.
The Center for Chicago Programs, located in the Mohr Student Center, is the campus hub for all Chicago-related programming. Providing help with itineraries and transportation, bringing Chicago-area speakers and performers to campus, sponsoring various course-related field trips to the city, and so much more, the Center is your “one-stop-shop” for all things Chicago.
