There are many different ways to make a gift to Lake Forest College - choose what method works best for you.

Year-End Gift Planning

CARES Act

Set to expire on December 31, 2020 this Act provides several options including the ability for non-itemizers to claim a charitable deduction of up to $300 for cash donations, 100% charitable gift deduction for cash gifts, and no required minimum distributions (RMD) from retirement accounts. SECURE Act

This law raises the age at which you must start receiving required minimum distributions (RMD) from retirement accounts from age 70½ to 72, allows contributions to be made to a regular IRA after the age of 70½, and requires (with certain exceptions) that retirement funds given to nonspousal beneficiaries be fully distributed within ten years. Recurring Gifts

Setting up monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, or annually recurring credit card gifts is simple and easy! While on our secure online giving form - under the "Payment Details" section, check the box that reads "Make this a recurring payment" and follow the prompts.

You will also become a member of our Loyalty Circle Guardian Society.

Stock or Securities
Gifts of securities are popular alternatives to cash. The donor receives many benefits, including receiving a maximum charitable income tax deduction and avoiding paying capital gains tax. 
The donor should notify the College by calling 847-735-6000 or emailing giftrecord@lakeforest.edu to ensure the gift is credited correctly when the transfer is complete.
